Meet The Team
UABU is a part of the Cisco Enterprise Networking business unit. We develop the networking products, software and solutions that Service Providers need to reduce cost and complexity, grow revenue and secure their networks. Our worldwide customers include national and local carriers/telcos, video, cable, internet service, media, web and over-the-top (OTT) service providers. In this role, you will engage with the Engineering product team and lead manufacturing cross-functional teams.
Your Impact
The UABU team is searching for Project Manager for New Product Introductions (NPPM). The NPPM is the accountable team leader for overall coordination of product line introduction with heavy emphasis on all development activities from pre-concept commit to Time To Quality and Volume (TTQV). Additional responsibilities include:
* Engages with the Engineering & Marketing prior to concept commit to scope project and create robust project plan.
* In-depth knowledge of Value Engineering Programs, Cost reduction programs, and Product Transition, component qualifications, and New Product Launches.
* Partner with ASIC Engineering, HW/SW Engineering, Marketing to develop product development schedule and timeline.
* Manage ASIC, GPU, Memory, and PHY transitions on an assigned product line.
* Understanding of transition of Cost reduction programs and tracking savings.
* Owns the lifecycle of the product insuring compliance to all the defined quality gates.
* Leads manufacturing cross-functional team to ensure that performance metrics for scope, cost, quality and Time To Market (TTM) are met.
* Create and implement action plan and fulfillment strategy with the integrated product team based on input received from engineering and marketing.
* Drive prototype and pilot builds, including cost and quality expectations. Reviews and influences manufacturing capacity/capability, design stability, and risk planning.
* Oversees and prioritizes risk mitigation strategies (multi-source tech assessment, component, cost variance, supply chain review, and input).
* Change Management. Compliance. Execution of Supply Chain. Actively seeks and incorporates best practices and results from post-project assessments into new products. Partners with Engineering and other teams to resolve issues that may impede project objectives/deliverables.
* Ramp up multiple Manufacturing sites & global Demand fulfillment sites.
* Partner with HW/SW Engineering, Marketing, Global Supply Management, Compliance, Product Ops Central, Global Manufacturing Ops, Quality, and Contract Manufacturing (CM) teams to ensure smooth NPI launch.
* Your ability to see the big picture, craft and implement plans and processes and effectively communicate across teams are key to your success. Your collaborative style enables you to lead and coordinate a product line introduction while never compromising quality.
Minimum Qualifications For This Role
* BA/BS degree.
* 5 years experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), Process Development, Supply Chain/Manufacturing, & Project Management.
* 8 years experience as a Program Manager.
* Experience with risk management/risk mitigation strategies.
* Demonstrated experience leading with cross-functional impact.
Preferred Qualifications
* Masters in technical field or MBA.
* Experience with ASIC development & qualification process.
