New Construction Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Project manager to join our Bunnings Property Team

 

About the role:

 

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for “end to end” project ownership where you are responsible for project planning, scheduling, administration, quality control, resource allocation, accounting and safety.

 

Reporting to the Head of Construction, you will monitor the progress of the building activities and ensure these activities are sequenced to pre-determined schedules to minimise the disruption to customers and store teams.

 

Communication and leadership capability are also key in this role where you will lead your project team to the end goal in a customer friendly manner and reinforce business requirements and standards to internal and external project stakeholders.

 

As the Project Manager - Construction, you can also expect to: 

Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions with consultants and contractors & manage, insurances, bonds or bank guaranteesAll projects are delivered in accordance with approved scope of works, format standards and specificationsRecommend design improvements, cost and time saving improvementsEffective management of assets (i.e. Equipment, Fittings and Fixtures)Integrate compliance requirements into business practicesLiaise with Store Management and minimise project disruption on store operations and customersFacilitate pre-construction due diligence team activitiesEnsure all approvals and certificates are obtained in a timely mannerComplete handover procedures to the store and maintenance teams in a timely mannerEnsure compilation of Warranty and As Built DocumentationEnsure sites are kept safe and free of hazards with minimal disruption to the customer.

About You

In addition you will need: 

Degree in Construction Management, Building, Engineering or related disciplineExperience in project management in the design and construction industrySpecific on-site project management experience on medium scale projects and retail projects desirableMinimum 5 years proven leadership experienceCompletion of OH&S Induction Training for Construction Industry Worker (White Card)Strong communication skills – both written & verbal with a strong influential flairPlanning and organisational skills with proven experience delivering projects on timeOperational experience of project delivery software desirable.
