Neuroscience Coordinator - RN
*POSITION SUMMARY* To ensure quality, timeliness and effectiveness of stroke care delivery. The Neuroscience Community Coordinator is responsible for the stroke program assessment, planning, organizing, implementation, budgeting, performance improvement, education, hospital services utilization, community outreach, pre-hospital education, and marketing/communications. The Stroke Program Coordinator works in a multi-disciplinary role to promote quality in clinical practice for a specific patient population. *PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES* 1. Collaborates effectively with the medical staff and hospital departments to assure there are effective stroke care services in place. 2. Collaborates effectively with neuro-hospitalists and emergency room physicians to provide well-coordinated services to the patient. 3. Reviews and maintains policies and procedures specific to the Stroke Program. 4. Maintains responsibility for knowledge and skill of clinical requirements in nursing specialty. 5. Coordinates and provides direction to the Stroke Core Team including timely and accurate communications and coordination with the medical staff, nursing, and support departments, and accurately reporting to other committees as required. 6. Maintains the Stroke Program Performance Improvement Plan in conjunction with Quality and Outcomes Management. 7. Provides accurate and timely clinical data to appropriate committees or groups and identifies opportunities for improvement in conjunction with Quality and 8. Outcomes Management. 9. Collects data and/or oversees processes for data collection. 10. Responsible for materials and content of education programs including collaborating with EMS to assist with educational and regulatory requirements. 11. Develops and implements a comprehensive plan of care for the stroke patient through multi-disciplinary collaboration and serves as an active participant in the hospital division’s research process. *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* * Education: BSN or actively enrolled. * Licensure: Current, active State of Florida RN License. * Work Experience: At least five (5) years of clinical experience in acute care. * Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: o Excellent knowledge and understanding of stroke patient care. o Demonstrated proficiency with MS Teams and MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. o Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize work and manage time. o Strong interpersonal and communication including presentation skills required. o Strong decision-making skills. o Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all levels within the organization. o Analytical abilities required to recognize and resolve problems requiring technical or clinical interventions. o Able to work flexible hours to include early morning and evening meetings. *PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* * Education: Master’s degree in related field. * Work Experience: Previous experience in nursing education. *PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS* * Ability to sit for long periods of time and perform typing skills using hand dexterity up to two hours at a time, 6-8 hours per day. * Ability to work flexible and/or long hours as required. * Must be able to bend and reach at all times. * Must be able to carry a minimum of 20 lbs. * Must have visual acuity with near and far depth perception at all times. * Must be able to hear and speak clearly. *MENTAL DEMANDS* * Ability to model and promote exceptional customer experience. * Ability to listen well and analyze needs from various ages and levels of education. * Ability to coordinate efforts across the organization. * Ability to access, interpret data and educate members of the healthcare team, patients, significant others, pre-hospital team and the community of various ages. * Able to concentrate on multi-priority activities. **Job:** **Clinical Professional* **Organization:** **Health First Shared Svcs Inc* **Title:** *Neuroscience Coordinator - RN* **Location:** *Florida - Brevard County-Viera* **Requisition ID:** *074897*
