20Summary:
The Neuropsychologist is responsible for direct patient care in the Psychology/Neuropsychology Department. Neuropsychologist administers, scores, and interprets neuropsychological testing with patients (ages 0-18 years). In addition, the Neuropsychologist supervises technicians (student externs, post-doctoral fellows, Licensed Psychological Associates, etc.).
Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution
Maintains a current, valid Texas State License to practice psychology as a Licensed Psychologist
An internship, or its equivalent, in a clinically relevant area of professional psychology (50% neuropsychology)
Two (full-time) years experience/specialized training in neuropsychology, (one post-doctoral) supervised by a board-certified neuropsychologist. If neuropsychologist trained before 2001, two or more years of appropriate supervised training applying neuropsychological services in a clinical setting in lieu of the 2 years pre- and post-doctoral training supervised by a neuropsychologist can be applied
Training in child growth and development required
Prior experience in pediatric setting, preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a desire to develop outstanding leadership skills
Demonstrate commitment to high standards of patient care and other customer relations practice
