Education & Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree Five (5) years of experience in Neurodiagnostics or Polysomnography

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Healthcare/Business Administration or related field. Two (2) years of supervisory experience

 

Licenses, Registrations OR Certifications

Required:

BLS Registration in one of the following: Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), Certificate in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS), R. , R. EP.T, R. CLTM, CNIM, R. NCS.T.

Job Summary

The Neurodiagnostic Services Manager is responsible for the operational management of activities within the Sleep and/or Neurodiagnostics departments, ensuring safe patient care and access in collaboration with medical staff and other health care team members. This role provides leadership in planning, organizing, staffing, and controlling daily operations while supporting and complying with performance improvement plans and relevant standards such as JC, AASM, and ASETNACE.

Essential Job Functions

Assigns staff and manages workload based on daily operational priorities while continuously monitoring and adjusting staffing levels to meet clinical and financial objectives. Interacts and communicates with physicians, support staff, and other health care professionals to facilitate departmental operations. Monitors the status of equipment repairs and preventative maintenance, gathers data on equipment malfunction and associated down time, and documents the effect on patient care. Ensures compliance with departmental and institutional policies and regulations. Provides practical instruction for students and other health care professionals. Evaluates staff, provides counsel, monitors performance, directs orientation, provides guidance, and constructively influences staff morale. Gathers data and participates in the department’s quality assurance and improvement plan to achieve a defined level of quality and appropriateness of patient care services. Manages inventory and oversees the purchasing of supplies within assigned areas. Continuously monitors staffing levels and adjusts as appropriate to meet various clinical care and financial objectives. Assures staff is trained and competent and documents the effects on patient care. Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces the safety measures in Environment of Care. Addresses and responds to concerns or grievances by physicians, staff, and patients. Works with projects to a timely resolution and completes assignments according to agreed deadlines Monitors revenue and expense budgets on an on-going basis and takes appropriate action to ensure practice is within budget guidelines Maintains the ability to perform procedures in the discipline for which they supervise to include assessment of patient needs.
