Position Description *Per Diem: Coverage needed consistently on Fridays in addition to other shifts as needed to cover PTO or volume increases. * *Most shifts would be scheduled in advance, with potential to cover unexpected call outs if available* We areseekinga compassionate and dedicated Neuro Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team. As a Neuro OT, you will provide specialized therapy to individuals with neurological conditions, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurodegenerative diseases. Your role will involve assessing, developing, and implementing individualized treatment plans that focus on improving function and enhancing quality of life. The Occupational Therapist (OT) independently evaluates patients’ level of function anddetermines, develops, and implements individualized treatment goals and plans in alignment with the patient/caregiver goals. The Occupational Therapist (OT) determines treatment strategies and delivers Occupational Therapy services that promote health and wellness, prevent injury or disability, improve and develop self-dependency and maintenance, productivity, leisure, perceptual motor function, rest, mental, cognitive physical, sensory-perceptual, psychosocial developmental, and emotional wellbeing in a variety of contexts and environments in order to maximize function in the areas of daily living, leisure/recreation, and productivity/work.This role encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and application of Occupational Therapy to maximize the patient's functional independence. Responsibilities * Upon Physician referral, the Occupational Therapist (OT)will assessand evaluate patients with neurological conditions toidentifyfunctional limitations and therapeutic needs. * Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. * Establishes measurable goals with the patient/family based on appropriate patient care protocols and critical paths in order to meet patient needs. * Implements, deliversand delegates patient care byutilizingappropriate interventionsand clinical decision making. Therapeutic techniques to supportevery dayactivities include but are not limited toimprovingmotor skills, cognitive functions, and adaptive techniques for daily living. * Provides patient and caregiver educationregardingtreatment, precautions, and equipment use.Educate patients and families on strategies to manage symptoms and improve functional independence at home and in the community. * Completes all documentation including but not limitedto:evaluation, care plan and goals, patient status and progress, visits, patient discharge summary, and patient care transition plan and summary. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, speech therapists, doctors, and nurses tooptimizepatient care. * Bachelor’s,Mastersor Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) * License to practice as an OT in the state of CT * OT working experiencepreferred, butwill also consider new graduates! *Preferred Qualifications:* * Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT®) * Experience with specific neurological conditions, including stroke rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury, and movement disorders. * Continuing education or specialized training in neurotherapy is a plus. * Strong clinical skills in assessing and treating neurological conditions. * Knowledge of evidence-based practices in neuro-rehabilitation.
