We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with at least 10+ years of expertise in network operations, focused on managing and optimizing complex network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in branch and data center switching and routing, firewalls, VPN technologies, and network management, as well as a proven track record of supporting high-availability networks in a global environment. This role requires a strong understanding of both operational and project-based network engineering, alongside technical leadership in managing network incidents, troubleshooting, and supporting network-related projects.
Key Responsibilities: Network Infrastructure & Management: Branch & Data Center Switching & Routing: Manage and maintain switching and routing configurations in both branch and data center environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. Wireless Technologies: Design, implement, and troubleshoot wireless networks, ensuring secure and efficient wireless connectivity for enterprise users. Enterprise Firewalls: Administer CheckPoint and Palo Alto firewalls, ensuring enterprise security policies and network traffic management. Internet Routing & Security: Configure and secure internet routing, including external and internal network protocols to maintain a robust security posture. Proxy & Load Balancers: Manage proxy technologies like Bluecoat and McAfee, and configure load balancers to optimize traffic distribution and prevent network bottlenecks. VPN & Security Technologies: Site-to-Site & Remote Access VPNs: Implement and manage site-to-site and remote access VPN technologies to ensure secure connections across various enterprise locations. Network Security & Hardening: Ensure network devices are securely configured and continuously monitored for vulnerabilities and compliance with security best practices. Network Operations & Support: Network Monitoring & Diagnostics: Use network management tools to monitor performance, diagnose issues, and ensure optimal network health across all enterprise locations. Packet Capture & Analysis: Conduct packet capture analysis for troubleshooting network problems and identifying performance improvements. Maintenance & Upgrades: Support routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and recurring patch cycles for network devices, ensuring compliance with standards. Incident Management: Proactively identify and resolve network incidents, adhering to SLAs and OLAs. Ensure timely communication and resolution of issues. Collaboration & Documentation: Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with teams such as Service Desk, Platforms, Information Security, and End-User Services to ensure seamless operations and fast issue resolution. Documentation & Standard Operating Procedures: Follow and update documented standard operating procedures to ensure consistent network management practices. Project Support: Act as a technical resource for network change requests, project work, and new technology implementations, providing expertise and leadership. Shift Work & On-Call Support: Shift & Weekend Work: Participate in shift work, including weekends and being on-call as required to provide continuous support and ensure network availability. Required Skills & Experience: Extensive Experience: 10+ years in network operations, including extensive experience with Branch & Data Center Switching, Routing, and Network Security. Certifications: Minimum CCNA certification (or equivalent), with preference for candidates actively working towards or holding CCNP certification. Security Expertise: Strong experience with enterprise firewall management, specifically CheckPoint and Palo Alto. Routing & VPN Technologies: Expertise in site-to-site and remote access VPNs, as well as common interior and exterior routing protocols. Wireless Technologies: Hands-on experience in setting up, troubleshooting, and securing wireless networks. Tools & Technologies: Proficiency with load balancers, proxy technologies (Bluecoat, McAfee), and network monitoring tools. Network Services: Strong working knowledge of IP address management, DNS, DHCP, and NTP. Packet Capture & Analysis: Experience with network probes and packet capture analysis for issue resolution and network optimization. Preferred Skills & Experience: ITIL Framework Experience: Familiarity with the ITIL framework for incident, problem, and change management. ServiceNow Experience: Experience with ServiceNow for incident management and tracking. Voice & Video Solutions: Knowledge of voice, video, and audio-visual solutions for unified communication. Cloud Technologies: Understanding of cloud technologies and their integration into network infrastructure is a plus. Soft Skills: Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively collaborate across global teams. Problem-Solving: Ability to prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
