Forcepoint is seeking a Network Reliability Engineer to join our Network Reliability Engineering team. The NRE role will focus on elevating architecture and design, network performance, and availability in support of our organization’s fast-evolving production network infrastructure.

The NRE will engage with Forcepoint teams to promote a culture of Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps strategies for our Network Infrastructure. Key areas for this role will include BGP routing in a complex multi-provider infrastructure, network architecture and design, observability, operations, and capacity planning.

Job Description

Contribute to Network Architecture and DesignMonitor, measure and improve the reliability, availability and scalability of Network Infrastructure, applications and servicesIdentify manual routine operational practices and build robust automation capabilities using code and modern toolsEngage in Incident response and participate in post-mortem analysis to investigate root cause and capture contributing factors for remediationPerform analytics on previous incidents and trend/usage patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actionsDesign and build custom tools as needed to support process optimization, challenging the status-quo and improving operational efficiencyParticipate in 24*7 rotational shifts & On-Call for handling production operation issuesEngage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuningCreate meaningful dashboards/reports for application telemetry and infrastructure health for pro-actively identifying performance constraints and bottlenecks

 

Requirements

University degree and 4-6 years of related experience, or equivalent work experience.Strong understanding of Networking concepts and theories, such as different protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, routing protocols, etc), VLAN configuration, DNS, OSI layers, and load balancingStrong understanding of network monitoring techniques including SNMP, Flow Monitoring, Telemetry, and SyslogStrong understanding of BGP routing on the public internet. Manipulating BGP attributes to alter routing. Leveraging Peering Exchanges and Internet Exchanges.Understanding of network security best practicesUnderstanding of network firewalls, IPSEC/GRE tunnels, VPN servicesAbility and willingness to coach and mentor Team members and colleaguesNetwork Automation using tooling like ansible, puppet, or chef [Preferred]Software Engineering skills with at least one scripting language like Python [Preferred]Understanding of Junos and Juniper MX, QFX, and EX platform [Preferred]Understanding of Linux or Kubernetes systems [Preferred]
