This position is responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting and managing all aspects of SPH network infrastructure. The Senior Systems Network Analyst will manage all Local Area Network devices including network switches, firewalls, security devices and appliances, network appliances, wireless controllers, and wireless access points. This person will manage the Wide Area Network to include internet resources, remote SPH locations such as the North Clinic and vendor-provided circuit routes. This person will manage the server back-up policy, process, and execution to ensure critical IT components are backed up with appropriate Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) measures. This position will interface with third party support and vendors and attend various meetings related to computer technology. This position will interact and collaborate with the IS Architect on problem resolution, architectural interfaces and recommended improvements. The Senior Systems Network and Storage Analyst will assist in researching, proposing and implementing new technologies and provide training. In addition to the previous, this person independently performs a broad range of technical, computer-related tasks under general supervision. The ability to exercise critical thinking, independent judgment and decision making in the diagnosis and resolution of computer hardware and software problems is key to this position. This position requires good communication skills and the ability to work with users diplomatically and skillfully. This position will support the Virtual Server Infrastructure, Storage Infrastructure as well as the Virtual Desktop Environment (VDI) . Strong knowledge in the areas of VMWare, Storage Management and support in regards to our Citrix infrastructure are required. In addition support of our Impravata environment is a requirement. The position will support the print server and SFTP server environment.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Five or more years experience with LAN/WAN and wireless network technologies is required. Comprehensive understanding of network protocols, OSI layers and network architecture/topologies is required. Storage experience with back-up software and Storage Area Networking (SAN) technologies including fibre channel, IP storage, Infiniband, etc is required. Strong knowledge and experience with PC hardware and software including Windows OS administration, file interchange, shared network resources, internet access and electronic mail is required. Demonstrated analytic, written, and oral communication skills is required. Knowledge in the areas of VM Ware, VDI, Citrix, and Impravata are required.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field from an accredited university with a minimum of five years experience in network and storage management preferred. In the absence of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field with 7 years experience in network and storage management is acceptable.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: ITIL Foundations Version 3 is preferred. Certification in Citrix, Impravata and VMware preferred.
