Network Engineer / Automation Engineer Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular-Long Term Assignment Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Local * * * **The Opportunity:** We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team, responsible for automating manual processes and tasks used by our operations staff. The successful candidate will have a strong background in process analysis, automation, and tool development, with a focus on delivering efficient and reliable automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual errors. **Responsibilities:** Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes) Knowledge of agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g. Git) Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL) and compliance regulations (e.g. SOX, HIPAA) **Qualifications:** Requirements: TESA Eligibility. BA/BS +3 yrs. recent specialized or AA/AS +7 yrs. recent specialized or a major cert + 7 yrs. recent specialized or 11 years of recent specialized 3+ years of experience in automation engineering, with a focus on process automation Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell) and automation frameworks (e.g. Ansible, Puppet) Experience with workflow management tools (e.g. ServiceNow, BMC Helix) and IT service management platforms Strong understanding of operational processes and workflows Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively with operations staff and stakeholders to understand their needs and develop effective automation solutions Strong communication and documentation skills **Key Responsibilities:** Analyze and identify manual processes and tasks used by operations staff that can be automated Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using a variety of tools and technologies, such as scripting languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell), automation frameworks (e.g. Ansible, Puppet), and workflow management tools (e.g. ServiceNow, BMC Helix) Collaborate with operations staff to understand their workflow and processes, and to identify opportunities for automation Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts that integrate with existing systems and applications Work with stakeholders to define automation requirements and ensure that solutions meet their needs Develop and maintain documentation for automation tools and processes Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues and errors Participate in the development of automation standards and best practices Stay up-to-date with the latest automation technologies and trends, and apply that knowledge to improve automation solutions Process Automation Focus: Automate manual tasks and processes, such as: Data entry and data processing Report generation and distribution System monitoring and alerting Incident management and remediation Compliance and audit tasks Integrate automation solutions with existing systems and applications, such as: IT service management platforms (e.g. ServiceNow, BMC Helix) Monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Splunk, ELK) Cloud and virtualization platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, VMware) - ______________________________________________________________________________ **What You Can Expect:** **A culture of integrity.** At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
