Description The Network Engineer will monitor and maintain network infrastructure, install and support software and hardware, and mentor junior staff. Responsibilities include resolving technical issues, leading projects, collaborating with teams, and providing 24x7 on-call support. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, over five years of experience with network systems, and proficiency in LAN/WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, and Cisco security tools. Experience with Cloud Networking (AWS or Azure) and troubleshooting various network components is essential. Professional certifications like CCNP or CCIE are a plus. Major Responsibilities Monitor and maintain network infrastructure for peak performance. Install, configure, and support cutting-edge software and hardware. Provide expert mentorship to junior staff and deliver top-notch service to employees and clients. Resolve complex technical issues and ensure minimal downtime. Lead projects, collaborate with internal teams, and stay ahead of industry trends. Provide 24x7 rotation on call support. Position requirements: Bachelor's degree is required. Degree in Computer Science, business or closely related major is preferred. 5+ years of computer processing/application or equivalent experience required. 5+ years of knowledge with network operating systems (LAN/WAN), data and voice communications. 5+ years’ experience with network design and implementation, including LAN, WAN, and VPN. 3+ years of knowledge with SD-WAN technology. 3+ years of knowledge with Cisco security tools such as Cisco Umbrella and Cisco ISE. 1+ years’ experience with Cloud Networking such as AWS or Azure. Professional certifications such as CCNP or CCIE is a plus. The incumbent should have a good attitude, commitment to work and ability to be a team player along with the ability to troubleshoot the following systems: DNS LAN/WAN Infrastructure Security Appliances to include Firewalls, VPN, WAF, and Load Balancers DHCP TCP/IP Routing Microsoft Azure Networking MS Teams Telephony Skills network engineering, cisco routers, cisco switches Additional Skills & Qualifications The client environment is 36 locations across the mid-west. Below is the tech specs: Routers/Switches – They are on 2960 switches and looking to upgrade to 9300s (within the next two years they want to upgrade all of those) 4k routers and looking to replace those with new flavor of 8200 series Data Center is shrinking as they are moving to the cloud as fast as they can and want to migrate into Azure.
