Who will you be working with?

Our Global Networking team supports 260 sites worldwide as well as presence in multiple cloud environments.  You will assist senior colleagues in designing, implementing and supporting Cloud, SaaS, WAN, LAN, WLAN and security solutions across the Wabtec Enterprise.  You will have opportunities to interact with senior engineers and architects, business leaders, end users and technology vendors.

The Wabtec Network is mission critical to our manufacturing, customer support and business support functions.  As a member of our Networking team, you will be able to build on your networking skills, IT knowledge and experience while assisting with networking projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business.

What do we want to know about you?

You must have:

Degree in information technology, computer science or engineering or equivalent experience/certificationsMinimum of 3 years of information technology experience with basic understanding and keen interest in networkingStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsWillingness to learn through partnering with senior colleagues and training/earning certificationsAn understanding flexible work hours across different worldwide time zones may be required, though work will primarily be during US East daytime hoursAn understanding that this position requires on site presenceAble and willing to travel, up to 5%

Familiarity with Cloud, wireless, LAN, WAN and SaaS solutions used across a global enterprise environmentFamiliarity with network monitoring concepts and toolsFamiliarity with TCP/IP protocols and services:  OSPF, BGP, STP, DNS, DHCPExperience with troubleshooting information technology issuesFamiliarity with a broad range of networking equipment: Cisco, Aruba, HP, FortinetFamiliarity with SDWAN and QoS principalsDemonstrated ability to establish relationships and trust with site management teams and users alikeProven ability to deliver while under tight timelinesDemonstrated ability to proactively analyze and solve technology problemsWilling to embrace change and manage or influence required activities to reach desired outcomes

What will your typical day look like?

Interacting with senior networking staff to develop knowledge and receive work assignmentsMonitoring network performance and serving as an escalation point for incidents impacting operations and end usersMaintaining and creating reference diagrams and documentation of network infrastructureCollaborating with third-party service and support vendors to ensure maximum uptime and prompt problem remediationAssisting with deploying and supporting branch site and data center wireless, LAN, WAN, cloud and SaaS networking solutionsContributing to site network design requirements and prepare cost estimates by evaluating business strategies and requirementsOther duties as assigned

Work Environment:

On site at the Pittsburgh office The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to cold or hot weather conditions.  Production facilities may require awareness of fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$67,400.00-$96,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com.
