Responsibilities Duties & Responsibilities:Serve as a Router Team Operator for the 26th NOS.Oversee intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, boundary protection and vulnerability assessment operations to defend the Air Force Network (AFNet). Expertly resolve complex technical network issues that arise.Investigate and rectify malfunctions in network hardware and other systems to ensure service continuity.Meticulously monitor and manage all WAN circuits, ensuring optimal performance.Deploy network and application systems as per specifications and requirements.Configure and set up various network equipment, including switches, routers, and access points.Respond promptly to remote assistance requests from colleagues and service partners, providing expert technical support.Actively participate in project meetings, effectively relaying project status updates to the team.Create and maintain comprehensive network support and implementation handover documentation for the Helpdesk.Manage assigned tasks and projects independently, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.Provide backup support to other team members as needed, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.Undertake any other assignments or duties as directed by management, demonstrating adaptability and versatility.Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across multiple devices to include routers, switches, firewalls, and management systems.Understand and implement disaster recovery procedures.Experience interpreting, implementing, and assessing DISA STIGsKnowledge of cybersecurity hardening practices for major network platforms (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, etc.)Familiarity with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF)Experience monitoring, diagnosing, and optimizing network performance while maintaining IA compliance. Qualifications Qualifications/Requirements:Candidate should have 3+ years of progressively responsible network engineering hands-on in:Enterprise network management, focusing primarily on Cisco devices.Installation, configuration, and support of network switches, routers, and wireless APsProven experience and success with LAN, WAN, and WLAN implementation and management.Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.Strong working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including Cisco products and solutions.Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Cisco IOS platforms.Excellent network hardware troubleshooting experience.Ability to understand the organization's goals and objectives and implement solutions to meet those goals and objectives.Knowledge of networking protocols and IP subnettingKnowledge of routing protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, BGPMust be able to push/pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.Must be willing to travel up to 5% of the year, dependent on contract needs and requirements that may arise.Education/Certification(s):Technical degree, Associates or, bachelor’s degree in computer science/information systems, Science/Engineering/Math or 2-4 years’ relevant experience in Information Technology preferably within system or application administration is acceptable.Requires a DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification: CompTIA Security+ CE (Continuing Education) CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) CE (Continuing Education) (ISC)² Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)Requires at least one or more Computing Environment/Operating System (CE/OS) Defense Cyberspace Workforce Certification (DCWF) requirement(s): Cisco – CCNACisco CCNP ENARSICisco CCNP ENSDWICisco CCNP ENSLDClearance: Active DoD Top Secret/SCI required.
