Network Engineer

Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer located in west Houston. In this role, you will be a crucial part of our team, responsible for supporting our enterprise data network and mentoring junior team members. Your expertise in network topologies, protocols, standards and conditions will be pivotal as you provide design and architectural support and act as the final point of escalation for all network-related issues.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of network infrastructure including routers, switches, wireless, load balancers, and other network devices and services.
• Provide in-depth analysis of networking problems and manage the highest-level response.
• Ensure network redundancy, high availability, and perform failover testing across all enterprise WAN connectivity.
• Enforce changes to network configurations in accordance with change management policies while minimizing down-time.
• Maintain configuration standards and support documentation.
• Enhance network security by safeguarding platforms from vulnerabilities and maintaining regular patching cycles for all network software and hardware.
• Collaborate effectively across teams and with customers to develop solutions and resolve issues.
• Demonstrate understanding of network firewalls and network segmentation.
• Work with business partners in the selection, procurement, implementation, and support of public and private circuits as well as networks at remote locations
Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Network Engineer with the focus on Cisco R/S, Aruba Wireless, and Security
• Proven knowledge and experience with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
• Demonstrable expertise in working with Cisco ASA
• Strong experience with Cisco Routers and Cisco Technologies
• Proficiency in Aruba Wireless technologies
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Fortinet Firewalls
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently
• Strong project management and multitasking abilities
• Commitment to staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
