Global Network Services (GNS) delivers value added products and services to meet business demand for the following disciplines: Global Data & Global Voice Networks, Desktop Support for Latin America and Canada, and Consumables (i.e., Blackberry's, Cell Phones, and Pagers).
This position focuses on working with a team of senior engineers to engineer to engineer and implement Network Security and Services for use within the global enterprise network. The team is responsible for all Network Security and Services including firewalls, load balancers, proxies, remote access, Streaming Media, WAN Acceleration, Wireless and DNS.
The selected engineer will be responsible for business requirements analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of load balancing infrastructure to support business needs. Must be able to create load balancing implementation plans and configurations, deployment of F5 load balancers, migrating Cisco ACE load balancers to F5 load balancers, ensure network interoperability, document existing and propose load balancing infrastructure, maintain relationships with Product Engineering and other teams within GNS, and provide fourth tier load balancing troubleshooting and support.
A solid understanding of available network operating systems, network devices, and networking protocols is essential. The individual must be experienced in large enterprise or service provider network architecture, analysis, and engineering implementation.

Experience designing and implementing load balancing solutions for large enterprises.
Knowledge and demonstrated experience required with F5 load balancers and Cisco load balancers (CSS and ACE).
Applicant must have an understanding of load balancing strategies/techniques, expertise in application switching/traffic management, knowledge of persistence and SSL certificates.
Applicant needs to have complete understanding of basic and advance F5 load balancer configurations, including migrating configurations from Cisco ACE to F5 and general troubleshooting of the F5 load balancers.
Knowledge and demonstrated experience preferred in the following areas:
IP Routing (BGP & OSPF), SSL Termination, layer 4-7 Content Forwarding, Ethernet Switching, VPN's, Security, QoS, , WAN Acceleration, IP Services such as DNS, Web Proxy, Socks, Multicast, geographic and/or local server load balancing, Unix OS, Windows 2K03/2k08.
F5 load balancers - BigIP, GTM, LTM and LC Appliances and Cisco CSS, ACE and ANM.
5+ years-related experience.
BS/BA (EE/CS) a plus.
