Network Engineer
Description We are in the Credit Union industry, based in Houston, Texas, and we're currently seeking a Network Engineer. The role involves developing and directing software system validation and testing methods. You'll also be responsible for overseeing the software programming initiatives and the development of documentation. Responsibilities: • Developing and executing project plans • Communicating key project data to team members and building cohesion among teams • Applying mathematics and statistics to problem-solving initiatives • Monitoring system performance and taking appropriate actions based on the data • Working closely with clients and cross-functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals • Managing the software development lifecycle • Applying best practices and standard operating procedures • Analyzing data to effectively coordinate the installation of new systems or the modification of existing systems • Testing new software and fixing bugs • Utilizing skills in C# and React to enhance software development processes Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. • Proven experience working as a Network Engineer or similar role in the Credit Union industry. • Advanced knowledge and practical experience with network and system management technologies. • Proficiency in C# - Sharp and React is mandatory. • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network issues independently. • Excellent understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS). • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools. • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with a team. • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. • Detail-oriented certification (e.g., CCNP, CCDP) is advantageous. • Familiarity with access control models and network security. • Experience with network virtualization technologies. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail. • Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule and perform after hours work as needed.
