McIntire Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA to help our client manage a large modern networking solution while assisting with cloud-based infrastructure delivery and support. 

Responsibilities 

Maintain the network hardware and software and monitor the network to ensure network availability to all system users;Perform the necessary maintenance to support network availabilityPerform installations, upgrades, support and problem resolution for multi-vendor networking operating systems (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).Serve as overall integrator of the enterprise networkServe as Operational Subject Matter Expert for future enhancement of network transport systemMonitors and controls the performance and status of network resources by using software and hardware tools, as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance.Must keep their technical skills updated and studies vendor products to determine those which best meet the Government's needs.Provides guidance and direction for junior network support technicians.

Required Qualifications 

Must have a current/active TS/SCI with CI PolygraphBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar fieldRequires six (6) - ten (10) or more years of experience in computer systems and network engineering, including 2 years of specialized experience.Demonstrated self-starter and team player with excellent communication skills (verbally and written)Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skillExcellent collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical user1+ year of Juniper experience;1+ years of experience coding in scripting languages (, Python, and/or PowerShell) and JavaDemonstrated experience with the operation of Cisco network switches, routers, IOS commands, Juniper firewalls, etc.Occasional OCONUS and CONUS travel to sites for installation and maintenance
