Activities

TotalEnergies Renewables USA, LLC is seeking a NERC Program Manager to ensure the complete portfolio of renewable assets conform with NERC’s compliance requirements and submission deadlines. The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and legal to develop, integrate, monitor, and support appropriate regulatory processes and controls to ensure TERUSA’s projects observe all NERC Operations & Planning Reliability Standards (NERC Reliability Standards).

 

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee NERC Compliance Program: Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of TERUSA’s NERC compliance program for renewable operating assets across North America, ensuring adherence to Generator Owner (GO) and Generator Operator (GOP) Reliability Standards.Policy Development: Draft and revise compliance policies to align with company goals and regulatory requirements, ensuring a robust compliance framework.Vendor Contract Review: Support the review and negotiation of vendor contracts (e.g., EPC, O&M, SCADA) to ensure NERC-related matters are appropriately addressed.Contractual Documentation Analysis: Review shared services agreements, interconnection agreements, power purchase     agreements, and other project-related documents to identify and address NERC compliance obligations.NERC Registration Leadership: Lead the NERC registration process for all TERUSA assets, coordinating directly     with Regional Entities, Transmission Owners, Transmission Operators, and Planning Coordinators.Third-Party Vendor Management: Manage engagement with third-party compliance vendors to ensure delivery of contracted services and alignment with TERUSA’s internal NERC compliance program.Operational Collaboration: Work closely with TERUSA’s operations team to validate compliance procedures, gather technical evidence, and submit required documentation to the appropriate authorities.Compliance Assurance: Conduct internal assessments to identify and remediate compliance gaps, ensuring organizational adherence to NERC regulations.Training and Guidance: Develop and deliver NERC compliance training, providing guidance to internal stakeholders to foster a culture of compliance.Deadline Management: Ensure all NERC-mandated deadlines are met, maintaining a proactive approach to compliance.Standards Monitoring: Monitor changes to NERC Reliability Standards, communicating and incorporating applicable updates into internal policies and procedures.Program Improvement: Recommend changes and modifications to programs, policies, and procedures to ensure ongoing     compliance with all applicable reliability standards.Audit Leadership: Lead both internal and external compliance audits, ensuring thorough preparation and successful outcomes.Budget Management: Develop and manage the compliance budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.Industry Engagement: Participate in regional reliability organization workshops and seminars to stay informed of industry trends and best practices.Reporting and Tracking: Create and maintain trackers and reports on NERC submissions, supporting auditing and financing obligations.

Candidate Profile

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably related to pre-law, compliance or utility operations.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a regulatory compliance management role, preferably with a regulated entity in electricity sector.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of NERC standards, include CIP.Basic knowledge of electrical generation and transmission.Knowledge of audit principles, with a preference for candidates certified as a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or Certified Risk and Information Systems Control.Proficiency with Microsoft tools.Understanding of compliance management controls.Proficient with internal controls and monitoring/evaluation principles.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve organizational goals.Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
