Compensation includes a base salary of $65,500.00 - $98,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Summary: Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the National Sales Planner is a critical role, partnering pre-sale with our internal and external sales teams by developing strategic cross platform media plans and avails that optimize yield principles and demonstrate an understanding of the Client objective. In this role you will partner with the National Sales Manager to respond to client, rep firm and agency requests from start to finish. Post-sale, you will provide leadership in directing the successful stewardship and deliverables for client investments. Qualified candidates for the position will be critical thinkers, possess strong qualitative and analytical skills, a drive to maximize results for the company, and demonstrate the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities:
• Work directly with the National Sales Manager (NSM) to strategically grow national revenue
• Under NSM guidance, direct rep firm with avail/proposal creation, execution, and stewardship
• Serve as main point of contact for smaller Ampersand offices
• Serve as back-up when NSM is traveling, submit rates and confidently make business decisions to secure new revenue, consulting with Inventory Manager and/or market VP as needed
• Work with NSM to proactively develop and promote effective sales packages (sports and specials)
• Create proposals across different media platforms adhering to all rate cards, buy specs, and negotiation guardrails as needed. Includes Core spot, VOD, OTT, and other Digital
• Work with inventory and inventory tools to maximize stewardship and minimize variance
• Work with Inventory and Sales Services to troubleshoot posts, maximize makegoods, and problem solve
Assist Sales Services with pre-empt notices, overall reporting, and other post-sale functions as needed
• Research and report on billing discrepancies
• Work with NSM to provide client recaps when needed
• Assist with monitoring and/or pulling of fulfillment/post buy reports and subsequent UDW schedule fulfillment
• Become a subject matter expert on internal systems and tools (inventory tools, rate cards, Strata, Cablequal,etc.)
• Primary stakeholder for deliverable tracking on Ampersand National Targeted TV schedules, NSM will assist with plans and revisions as needed to ensure delivery
• Work closely with Sales, Research, Sales Services, CFC, and Finance etc. to help support all business needs and provide client support as needed
• Work with NSM to pull and scrub market reports for low share and zero share accounts
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline 2+ years of experience required Cox Media Sales or Sales Services.
• The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 6 years’ experience in a related field
• Knowledge of Cox Media software tools used in the generation and stewardship of media orders
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft tools
• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, verbal and written communication, and problem solving skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
• Proficiency in media math and terminology
