Responsibilities Position Summary: This role leads the effective management and maintenance of the distribution centres quality and compliance systems. All supply chain activities from inbound freight receipt, inventory management through to restaurant delivery are monitored and audited for quality and business process by the compliance manager. A subject matter expert, this leader partners with local distribution management team to ensure the highest levels of food safety and quality are achieved. Through continuous improvement this leader delivers on key performance metrics and operational support by focusing on audit, quality, business process and inventory management. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Responsible for quality performance of the distribution centre from an audit, risk and compliance perspective through internal and external evaluation and key performance indicators Ensures Operations are meeting governmental regulations such as the Safe Foods for Canadians act, risk systems and HACCP programs Monitor the industry for best practices, change in technology/process or legislation. Makes recommendations to leadership regarding opportunities that will positively impact our risk mitigation/business continuity processes/policies Resolution and disposition of non-conforming product out of MB Sync4S and the approval of supplier concessions In the event of a stock recovery, this role is the local stock recovery lead, ensuring product and resources are managed to ensure the successful execution and traceability of goods Completes and facilitates all internal and external audits for the local and neighboring distribution centres. Ensures findings are documented and closed out by local leadership in a reasonable period As a strategic business partner, the compliance manager partners to support revisions to business process and workflow to exceed company objectives and performance metrics Monitors local restaurant complaints from a food safety and quality perspective. Cooperates with McDonalds quality system and suppliers to find resolutions to known issues Uses data and analytics to identify issues and provide recommendations for improvements Ensuring completion of corrective actions at the DC level as an outcome of Quality/System audits including adherence to certified G.F.S.I quality systems Support Global Martin-Brower Quality initiatives as needed Own the identification, implementation and maintenance of Quality processes and tools such as Continuous Temperature Monitoring and Warehouse Management System Developing appropriate success metrics and continuous improvement of Quality performance throughout the supply chain Ensure the operations follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP)/Good Drivers Practices (GDP) for transport rules and regulations Other projects or duties as assigned Qualifications Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor degree in relevant field 8+ years of relevant experience and 4+ years of experience in managing a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of employees, management, and customer Strong strategic thinker and influencing skills Problem solver with the ability to clearly define actions and deliverables Critical thinker with an eye for identifying irregularities and exceptions Excellent presentation and analytical skills High initiative, self-motivation with a strong sense of urgency and leadership qualities including a positive approach to managing and interacting with stakeholders internal and external Advanced computer software skills with MS Office suite of programs Willingness to travel up to 20% for periods of time - Primarily Canada & US This position must pass a post-offer background check Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience within a food handling Distribution/Processing System preferably servicing the restaurant trade
