The Food and Beverage Segment Leader is critical to the Our Specialty Industry Practices ongoing success and efficiency in sales, customer service and marketing. As the F&B Segment Leader, you're responsible for the strategic oversight of product offerings, implementation, new business development, account retention, and the successful mentoring and development of our Producers and Account Management staff.

Leadership accountabilities withing the Agriculture Vertical, including formalizing the Food and Beverage segment and enrolling credentialed experts and the next generation of staff looking for a nicheProvide a vision and growth plan for how the company will profitably expand its capabilities in small, mid-market, and specialty commercial lines offerings in the Food and Beverage space, inclusive of CannabisCreate and Promote thought leadership within the vertical to educate our teams and elevate our brand eminence in the market for this segmentEstablish a positive and collaborative culture within the Industry VerticalInfluence and support customer and prospective relationship developmentWork closely with the Production staff to identify and close new business activityManage insurance carrier access and support as needed, along with market relationship development, to find new products and services for clients and prospectsWork with the various regional executive teams to identify possible agency acquisitionsSupport the development and management of department budget and expenses per corporate guidelinesInfluence and support strategic planning initiatives including producer and personnel developmentCreate positive synergy with Employee Benefits and Personal Lines practices to encourage cross-sellingEnhance Value Proposition, Stewardship process and Account Management servicesDrive consistent and predictable long term, profitable client relationshipsAssist in developing sales and marketing strategies along with communications to optimize HUB’s position in the marketplacePositively and proactively represent HUB in meetings, seminars, trade shows and networking eventsDeep knowledge of P&C carriers product and service level differentiation with the Food and Beverage spaceHelp build and execute annual sales plan including internal training, communications and promotionManages and monitors performance tracking and metrics for the verticalExercises expense control and maximize revenue and net operating incomeEnsures continuous development of products and service offerings aligned with identified needs of customers in the market segmentsChampions the internal and external HUB "brand" and positioningHelps strengthen HUB producer workforce via personal recruiting and coaching in verticalQualifications
At least 15 years of progressive commercial lines insurance experience; majority must be within an agency, brokerage or consulting firmDemonstrated track record as a Managing Producer, Client Service/Account Executive or Team Leader in developing a consultative sales platform for sales and account managementSpecialty lines experience a plusBe a hands-on manager; enjoys mentoring of staff; also, desire to work alongside producers in the field helping to originate new business through your personal networks and close accounts in team based salesCan institute effective employee development procedures which address training, processes and procedures, E&O avoidance, continuing education, and recruitingUnderstand ways to distinguish insurance brokerages through customer service, technology and special product offerings, association marketing, client communication strategies and alternative funding programsMust have willingness to partner with other verticals within HUB for MSO type clientsProven progressive sales track record in driving new business resultsA consultative, positive and resourceful approach to dealing with prospect, clients and associatesStrong visibility within the local and national insurance communitiesHighly developed organization and time management skillsMust be willing to travel at least 30% of your timeExcellent listening skillsStrong written and verbal communicationsStrong degree of self motivationDemonstrated ability to lead/motivate othersIs influential and persuasive with the ability to partner across HUB and work well with segment and other channel leadersThe expected salary range for this position is $300,000 to $350,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits such as vacation, sick, and personal days, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
