The role you’ll contribute:

Provides direct patient care services in collaboration with a physician including general and preventative care, assessment, physical examination, initiation of management and treatment of the patients within scope of practice. The Multi-Specialty Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner provides self-directed, effective nursing care to groups of patients and other duties as assigned in accordance with Division of Services standards for two or more specialty areas.

· The observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured or infirmed; and the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health and prevention of illness and others.

· The administration of medication and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner authorized by the laws of this state to prescribe such medications and treatments.

· The supervision and teaching of other personnel in the theory and performance of any of the above acts.

· Participates in rounding for outcomes using the AIDET technique.

· Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.

· Provides direct physical and psychological care in emergencies.

· Performs minor surgical and invasive procedures such as suture of lacerations (not involving nerves or tendons) and incision and drainage of abscesses, casting, joint injections, catheter and stent placement and removal.

· Documents essential history information and physical exam components that support the derived diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan as reviewed.

· Demonstrates sense of judgment by appropriate counseling, referrals and orders as documented on the record.

· Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

· Graduate of an accredited APRN program.

· Accumulates appropriate continuing education units in time limits established by state and national registries to ensure that licensure is current at all times.

· At least one year of experience in two or more specialty areas including (but not limited to): orthopedics, general surgery, urology, endocrinology, dermatology, rheumatology, specialized diabetic care, cardiology.

· Maintains professional licensure of APRN in the facility state.

· Maintains current good standing with Board of Nursing.

· Maintains current CPR certification.

· Must possess valid DEA license if practicing more than one year (*will have 30 days from first anniversary date of hire to obtain a DEA license).

· FCCS Certification- only required for critical care areas.
