Position Components
In this role, you will work with colleagues in the JNJ Innovative Medicine R&D Data Science & Digital Health organization and partner with key businesses across JNJ Innovative Medicine (formerly Janssen) to apply advanced data science and analytics to answer key research questions. As an intern, you will get the opportunity to work on cutting-edge problems at the intersection of artificial intelligence and drug discovery. You will be a member of a dynamic team comprising data scientists and subject matter experts to create and iterate on data science solutions. Projects include, but are not limited to, developing and applying large vision models, as well as predictive and generative artificial intelligence methods, on molecular high-dimensional bioimaging data for advancing drug discovery. Interns can be located at our US offices in San Diego, San Francisco, Titusville, Raritan, Spring House, and Boston as well as in Zug, Switzerland, or remotely.
**Qualifications**
+ Currently pursuing a Master’s, or PhD degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Informatics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
+ Strong working knowledge of AI/ML solutions applied for analysis of large-scale bioimaging data
+ Strong analytical skills in Computer Vision for bioimage analysis with validated track records (publication in top-tier journals/conferences, public code contributions, etc)
+ Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with Deep Learning frameworks such as PyTorch to address scientific problems.
+ Strong technical communication and presentation skills.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in one or more of the following:
+ Strong AI/ML experience in analyzing high-dimensional bioimaging data (e.g. high-content images, high-dimensional biomedical imaging, etc)
+ Familiarity with predictive modeling, visual analytics and domaine adaptation methods in the biomedical field
+ Hands-on experience in analysing large-scale bioimaging data is a plus
+ Proven track records of publishing in related top-tier journals/conferences
Responsibilities:
+ Development and evaluation of AI/ML algorithms to analyze large-scale high-dimensional bioimaging datasets.
+ Collaborate closely with other machine learning scientists, computational biologists and chemists to develop and execute the research project.
+ Document and disseminate research findings internally and externally (e.g.- publishing in top-tier ML conferences/journals).
