MRO/OEM Sales Manager/ Indoor Air Quality
Overview The Sales Manager will engage and strengthen relationships with 3rd party manufacturers in addition to setting strategic plans for all 3rd party manufacturers’ products for the nation. The Sales Manager will create pull through business by creating Panasonic specifications through large MRO and OEM businesses and specify Panasonic products for various new construction, remodel and renovation projects including converting projects specified with competitive products. Responsibilities What You'll Do: The MRO-OEM-3rd Party Sales Manager is responsible for effectively executing the Company’s sales strategy to achieve maximum market share and profitability for PESNA-IAQ’s portfolio of products. The Sales Manager will promote MRO business throughout the country by collaborating with Regional Sales Managers and Area Sales Managers to focus on corporate targets, regional offices, and projects. It also requires responsibility for product training and ensuring engagement of independent manufacturers’ representatives in their assigned regions. The Sales Manager will seek out OEM opportunities on a national scale with manufacturers, national accounts, and corporate opportunities. Sales Management: Collaborates with the National Sales Manager in establishing sales goals and strategies to improve market share in all product lines Manages an assigned geographic sales area to achieve sales and profit targets Establishes and manages effective programs for growth Responsible for accurately developing annual, quarterly, and monthly demandforecasts Develops specific plans to ensure growth in all Company products Develops, plans and makes proposals for promotional activities to meet the specific needs of the channels Provides quarterly results assessments for channel productivity Coordinates proper company resources to ensure efficient utilization that deliers expected sales results Holds regular meetings with all accounts and companies Sales Process: Responsible for the development and maintenance of MRO and OEM channels within the country and prospecting new opportunities with 3rd party companies under the guidelines established by the National Sales Manager Perform sales activities on major accounts and negotiates sales pricing and discounts in conjunction with the National Sales Manager Responsible for visiting national and regional branches and new targets in support of the budgetary sales plan Assists product development team in establishing personal contact and rapport with 3rd party manufacturers Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all Panasonic products, features, functions, and benefits Participate in trade shows, seminars and field events as directed Administrative: Maintain clear written records of all contacts and potential business in the format requested Submit detailed monthly sales report to the National Sales Manager Input expense reports no later than 4 weeks after the expense in incurred Input special pricing request into SAP as required Scope: Reports to the National Sales Manager Wholesale Implements the Sales and Marketing Strategic plan developed by the company to achieve assigned sales budget Sales Target and Demand Forecast for channels of responsibility Manage sales expenses within budget Develops strategic sales plan for 3rd party companies with the National Sales Manager Participates on new product development teams as Sales representatives for channel(s) Ability to travel throughout the country as well as occasional overseas travel (up to 50-60% travel requirement from your home-based office annually) Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred At least 5 years of experience in the wholesale construction materials industry preferred Broad knowledge of distribution strategies, business reasons underlying those strategies and firsthand experience in tactical implementation Technical or hands-on background in the HVAC field highly desirable. Alternatively, a demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge quickly is acceptable. Deep knowledge of the US local building codes and future trends Highly competent in the use of technology including MS Office products and demonstrated ability to continuously master new skills with corporate business systems Competencies: Highly talented people-person who can see through business issues and find solutions for them Ability to identify, research, and solve contractor/end user installation and product use issues Competent in assessing challenging installation situations and resolving technical problems Utilization of automation tools and technology to increase efficiency Communications: Ability to communicate with all stakeholders (internal and external) in a timely and effective way Timely and complete responses to all inquiries Ability to communicate best practices to contractors at both the management level and with installers in a way that encourages the use of Panasonic products and installation via preferred method Articulate problems and solutions in concise, easy to understand language at appropriate levels: installer, contractor, distributor, specifying engineer, and architect Advanced skills in developing and delivering compelling solutions to close sales opportunities Fluency in English language required, Spanish language a plus Other Requirements: Carry sample product and merchandising displays into and out of customer locations, carry and deliver for shipment and load/unload from car/van frequently. Able to carry 40lbs unaided. The salary or hourly wage range of $126,000 – $151,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
