Position Overview:
The Material Review Board (MRB) Quality Technician / Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that materials, components, and products used in the manufacturing process meet quality standards. This position involves the identification, assessment, and resolution of non-conforming materials through a structured review process. The MRB Technician/Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to determine the appropriate disposition for non-conforming items.
This role requires a focus on timely execution—ensuring that non-conformance issues are resolved quickly and corrective actions are taken efficiently to maintain the flow of production and minimize impact on timelines. The MRB professional will document all actions taken, track trends, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and enhance manufacturing processes. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage time-sensitive issues are essential in this fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This requisition may be filled as either a Quality Technician or Engineer based on the qualifications below.
What You'll Do:
+ Facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) meetings multiple times a week by commodity.
+ Ensure meetings are productive by performing initial investigations and gathering relevant information prior to the scheduled meetings.
+ Maintain accurate records of all non-conformances and dispositions in the database.
+ Assist with risk assessment on non-conformances to generate appropriate action plans.
+ Work with production, engineering, and quality teams to determine the root cause of non-conformance.
+ Track and report on non-conformance trends, root causes, and corrective actions.
+ Generate reports on MRB activities for management review.
+ Assist in developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) by participating in Corrective Action Review Board (CARB).
+ Assist with the documentation and follow-up of CAPAs.
+ Generate investigation reports and 8D reports as required to be shared with relevant parties.
+ Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes by analyzing data related to material defects or non-conformances.
+ Participate in quality control processes, including inspections and internal/external audits, to ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
+ Gain hands-on experience with diverse manufacturing processes, including machining, tooling, 3D printing, painting, soldering, and bodywork.
+ Perform additional tasks assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ 1-2 years minimum of professional experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Familiarity with quality management systems (AS9100 or ISO 9001 is a plus)
+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications (training provided if limited experience).
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and a willingness to learn statistical analysis and quality-related software.
+ Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
+ A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and learning in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
+ Follow all DG safety procedures as per company policies and per the Facility Engineer/Safety Director.
