Mountain School Sales Rep - Snowbird

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Snowbird is situated in the middle of the Wasatch Mountain Range and is not only home to awe-inspiring views and mighty terrain, it is also home to employees equally as remarkable. TITLE:                  Mountain School Sales Representative

LOCATION:         Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort - Snowbird Center and Millrock Office

STATUS:               Seasonal, Full-time & Part-time, Hourly

SCHEDULE:         Variable - 5 day working week

Must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays.Part-time positions may be available.

SUMMARY

As a member of the sales team, you will work under the direction of the Mountain School Sales Office Lead and the Supervisor of Sales and Rentals. This involves selling Mountain School programs, advising guests on appropriate lessons, providing lift tickets where necessary, processing credit card transactions, balancing individual register. Responsible for providing quick and efficient customer service responding to and anticipating guests’ needs in all aspects of Mountain School and Snowbird.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Provide information to Snowbird guests about Mountain School programs and associated products and services to best meet the customers’ needs.Meet and greet guests at staffed Mountain School locations, sales locations, and others as required.Use the Point-of-Sale system to book lessons (and provide lift tickets) if needed as well as processing payments.Liaise with supervisors and managers on instructor staffing and assignments.Support and assist the Mountain School management team in daily operations.Answer phones, return calls and check voice mail; and as required, reply to guests’ emails in a timely and professional manner.Be an empathetic ear to customers’ requests and/or concerns and know when to elevate complaints to the Sales Lead and/or Supervisor or wider management team.Provide information on all areas of the resort upon the customers’ request.Balance daily work after each shift.Performs miscellaneous clerical duties.Be prepared to work at the resort or the Millrock office, or a combination of bothKeep your workspace and office area tidy, clean and presentable.You may be required to assist with lesson check-in procedures at outside locations.Other support tasks assigned by Mountain School management.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

Present a confident but personable customer service manner both in person and on the phone.Daily interact with guests, co-workers, management and other departments.The ability to learn and retain a range of knowledge about Mountain School programs, lift tickets, and the entire resort and be able to communicate this information accurately and effectively to customers.Current computer knowledge and typing skills, with working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs: Outlook, Excel and Word as well as applications like Google sheets and Teams, and use of general office equipment.Have practical use of RTP and to a degree FLAIK in a sales environment. This isn’t a requirement, but these are the main systems tools used and so are a key aspect of the position. Any previous, consistent use would be advantageous.Previous experience in sales or customer service operation, preferably in the Snowsports industry.Working knowledge of the Snowsports and the Ski industry as whole is a bonus, even more so if this is local to the position.The ability to ski or snowboard. Whilst this is not a hard requirement is a distinct plus. There would be active encouragement to take this up if it’s not already the case.Ability to prioritize, multitask and work under pressure in what can be a very busy position.Process payroll tasks as needed.Comply with all uniform standards.Comply with all shift/scheduling requirements including working weekends and holiday periods as agreed with the management team.Other support tasks assigned by Mountain School management.Be ok about staying overnight at the resort if required.

WORK SCHEDULE

5 day working week – including weekends and holidays.Daily Schedule: 8 am to 4.30 pm.Part-time positions may be available.Season is typically Mid-November to Mid-April.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Generally, a customer facing office environment that can be very busy at times.There are frequent interruptions and diversions.Involves standing for long periods of time.May be asked to work outside in winter conditions during the day.
