at every level within the organizationThe Monitor Technician performs standard work related to telemetry monitoring on patients requiring continual cardiac observation and provides analysis of cardiac Hartford Hospital Arrhythmia recognition and interpretation training prior to completing orientation ability to test out if prior experience Must be able to read and understand oral and written instructions and effectively communicate information in EnglishKnowledge Skills and Ability Requirements Basic Knowledge of ECG interpretation medicalcardiac terminology preferredAbility to maintain focus for long periodsAbility to work in an environment with high activity and multiple prioritiesProficiency with navigating all aspects of electronic monitor systemWithin scope of job requires critical thinking skills with attention to detail decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervisionIntermediate level computer efficiency Demonstrated attention to detail in all aspects of workStrong ability to use skillful communication with members of the healthcare delivery team Uses communication skills to foster a healthy work environment and facilitate positive patient outcomes and experienceExcellent interpersonal skills organization and communication verbal written listening skillsDemonstrates safety practices in alignment with High ReliabilityEmbodies the HHC leadership behaviors and company values and effectively utilizes the HHC operating modelAssumes responsibility for self improvement in collaboration with the leadership team by identifying as a monitor tech EMT inpatient unit secretary patient care assistant experience performing cardiac monitoring or as a nurse aideCertified Rhythm Analysis Technician CRAT or equivalentCertified BLS
