Responsibilities The Monitor Tech is an unlicensed person who performs indirect care in the department setting. Monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors. Meets the communication needs of the department.Provides appropriate telemetry monitoring based on patient?s age and rhythm. Demonstrates knowledge of arrhythmia identification and analysis. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Work Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for all new hires. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate Preferred must complete within the orientation period and maintain current annually. Current BLS (AHA) certificate required upon hire and maintain current. Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician preferred.
