Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Head of Global Financial Crime Compliance France – Vice President

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented individual to lead the Global Financial Crimes and Compliance (‘GFCC‘) team located in our Paris office and act as in-country Money Laundering Reporting Officer. The role sits within the EMEA GFCC team reporting into the Head of GFCC EEA and MLRO for J.P. Morgan SE.

As a MLRO and Head of GFCC France, you will be responsible for J.P. Morgan second line financial crime control program in France, you will provide requirements and guidance to the business and acts as point of escalation to ensure effective identification and mitigation of financial crime risks. You will support all lines of business operating in France working closely with Global Financial Crime Compliance (GFCC) JPMSE and Regional Teams. 

Job responsibilities

Manage a local team of three Global Financial Crimes and Compliance officersOversee the execution of global and France anti-financial crime program and set financial crime policy requirements for the France businesses which comprises Markets, Global Investment Banking, Global Corporate Bank, Commercial Banking, Payments and Wealth Management.    Serve as escalation point for the France businesses in regard of interpretation and execution of requirements and client or activity, provide recommendations for appropriate risk mitigation and make determination as to whether activity is suspicious and should be filed as a Suspicious Activity report.Act as referent for the ACPR in regard of any financial crime matters including any exams or regulatory submissions and provide support in case of Law Enforcement requests.Assist the Line of Business on the regulatory impact analysis of new products, processes and policies and assisting in their design and implementation and conduct line of business AML related periodical training.Interface with business senior management and discuss unusual or complex issues with local and regional GFCC management and ensure that relevant local LE boards or comparable governing bodies committee and management committees are kept aware of risks and issues where required under the local governance structures.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

A minimum of 10 years compliance experience.Experience in managing a team of people.Ability to understand, interpret, and apply regulatory guidelines and applicable standards.Understanding of corporate governance requirements and risk management and financial crimes principles.Strong exposure working with French Regulators.Solid proficiency and experience in implementing policies and procedures.Proactive approach to problem solving, owning the issues and having the determination to follow tasks/issues through to resolution.Decision maker with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deliverables. Ability to work both independently and as a core team member.Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills also with Senior levels.Fluency in French and English is essential.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Experience in large banking organizations demonstrating local regulatory knowledge, in particular in areas such as AML European Directives, France AML/CFT & Sanction regulations and related ACPR guidance.
