Mold Set-Up Technician - 3rd Shift

Responsibilities

Skilled Mold Set-Up Technicians support the production, quality, cost and safety goals of the manufacturing operation and plant facilities. All skilled personnel are responsible for preventive maintenance, process and equipment improvements and effective troubleshooting. These responsibilities include:

Create and maintain a safe work environment by following Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and 5S policies and procedures Complete weekly preventative maintenance on machines and tools, apply force of 75lbs or greater for clamping tools in machines and frequently lifting over 50lbs while operating an impact gun Make necessary connections of electrical, hydraulic and cooling systems to the mold Ensure the correct plastic material, plastic melt temperatures, shot size, injection speed andpressures are set; and cycle the machine and adjust the molding parameters until acceptable parts are produced Change tools per schedule and/or leadership direction in a safe and efficientmanner utilizing established crane and Lock-out Tag-out procedures Ensure established Mold Setting processes are followed based on mold requirements, materials, and tolerances Execute production runs; conducts quality control testing before mold enters production cycle

Addition Job Responsibilities

Attend training classes and scheduled meetings Report all damaged tool change equipment to the Technical Supervisor/Technical Manager Use various measuring and gauging tools to perform necessary inspections before, during and after molding operations

 

Qualifications

Must pass Mold Setter Aptitude Test High school graduate or equivalent, equivalent work experiences may also be considered One to three years minimum experience with injection molding One to three years minimum experience in manufacturing environment Forklift certification, will train in house One year experience with overhead cranes Thorough understanding of machinery, fixtures, material purging and material color changing Must be able to problem solve and continuously improve safety, quality and productivity. Demonstrated success in troubleshooting and problem-solving Must be able to read, write, and speak company language Available to work any shift including overtime, holidays, weekends and shutdowns Ability to manage competingdemands while being adaptable and flexible in a quickly changing environment Perform theessential functions of the position with or without an accommodation, including but not limited to: Prolonged standing and frequent walking Be able to reach overhead, reach at shoulder level, reach at knee, and floor level Bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, crawling, ladder/stair climbing Handling and lifting of parts and/or equipment (50 lbs) Salary Range varies based on hands on test
