OverviewThe Modern Workplace Engineer participates in the planning of the endpoint strategy and design, along with providing engineering-level support, technical expertise, planning and recommendations for client endpoint supporting technologies, applications, and system management tools in response to CMH's needs. Modern Workplace Engineer acts as a Level 4 Engineer and works with internal IT teams to successfully deploy and maintain applications, operating systems and print services across CMH. Engineer implements infrastructure solutions in support of the Desktop, VDI, and MDM environments that provides value-added services and enables CMH to meet industry-best-practices for management and security (e.g., virtualization solutions, anti-virus, personal firewalls). Modern Workplace Engineer is consulted on desktop solutions and products including hardware standards and lifecycle strategies for desktops, laptops, operating systems, VDI infrastructure, core builds and standard shrink-wrapped software such as Microsoft Office.
This is a daytime, Monday-Friday role with rotating on-call responsibilities. The incumbent should live in the KC area and be available for onsite meetings as needed.

ResponsibilitiesParticipates in the design, selection, and implementation of Modern Workplace Engineering systems:
Maintains a high level of technical competency, keeping up to date on current issues and trends surrounding infrastructure systems, and through the periodic reevaluation of current methods to identify possible areas for improvement.Evaluates and recommends new hardware and software to support on expanding infrastructure and be responsible for system capacity planning.Participates in projects as required to implement new solutions.Participates in defining and maintaining roadmaps of technologies and solutions.
Manages the overall health and performance of the Modern Workplace Engineering systems:
Administers and maintains the hardware and software systems that make up the Modern Workplace Engineering systems. This includes activities such as the deployment, configuration, and maintenance and monitoring of active endpoints; utilizes tools, techniques, and experience to resolve issues with prompt, complete, and courteous service.Proactively monitors health of systems/assignments and takes corrective action when issues are discovered.Utilizes scripts, automation, tools, or procedures for proactive and reactive resolution of monitors or health events.
Creates and maintains accurate documentation:
Prepares documentation for endpoints, systems, projects, and connections including drawings, diagrams, baselines, detailed change management documentation, instruction sheets, best practices, and security settings.Participates in knowledge transfer or working sessions to cross-train with other technical resources.
Provides friendly, concise and informed technical support:
Uses technical and communication skills to provide project assistance and technology solutions. Serves as an expert technical resource by advising and assisting departments with infrastructure related issues.Completes tasks with a positive attitude.Maintains technical competency:
Reviews news sources and other technical content for relevant information; attending seminars and training pursuant to maintaining a knowledge of technologies in use at the hospital and working with other teams within the hospital to maintain knowledge of systems and applied practices.Qualifications Bachelor's Degree plus 3-5 years experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study, with a minimum of 3 years of verifiable professional experience. The theory and advanced problem-solving skills for this role should be acquired either through post-secondary education ,or through more extensive on-the-job experience. OR High School diploma, or equivalent, OR Associate's degree and 7 years' experience. The theory and advanced problem-solving skills for this role should be acquired either through post-secondary education ,or through more extensive on-the-job experience.MD 101 Preferred.MS 101 Preferred.

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $39.59/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based upon your education and experience.

This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.
