Department Profile
This role resides within the Model Risk Management (MRM) Department which is dedicated to providing independent model risk control, review and validation of models used by Morgan Stanley.. Risk Analysis and Reporting is a critical component of Model Risk, responsible for performing detailed risk analysis, creating comprehensive risk reporting and designing and implementing strategic reporting solutions.
Background on the Position
Morgan Stanley seeks a professional for Model Risk Reporting team within Model Risk Management (MRM) department. The individual will cover a diverse range of responsibilities to facilitate analysis, reporting and control of risk information to meet the requirements of the Model Risk Management function and the regulators.
The Reporting & Analytics VP will be responsible for overseeing the regular reporting production cycles and continuously seeking opportunities to enhance reports to . You will be expected to execute data analysis which includes sourcing raw data, transforming data as necessary and using data to draw sound conclusions and help drive decision making. To be successful, candidate needs to the ability to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines. Information processed in the department is confidential and thus the candidate must demonstrate integrity.
Primary Responsibilities
> Create and validate monthly metrics and reports presented to MRM senior leaders and stakeholders
> Lead efforts to analyze data trends and ensure data is accurate and comprehensive
> Develop and implement dashboards, automated reporting processes and analytical tools for managing and monitoring risk across MRM
> Continually evaluate existing reports, processes, and analytical tools to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of these reports and analytical tools
> Respond to regulatory and audit requests for information
> Liaise with Model validation teams across MRM
> Manage ad-hoc requests from senior management to ensure timely and accurate responses. Qualifications
> Bachelors / Master's Degree in finance, computer science, or engineering
> 7-9 years of work experience in financial reporting, risk management, and/or project management
> Preferred knowledge of risk management through industry experience
> Expertise in data extraction and manipulation (SQL), data visualization tools (PowerBI), reporting process automation (VBA, MS PowerApps), proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel and PowerPoint)
> Attention to details is a must have with a keen sense of ownership and accountability for work
> Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
> Very good communication skills, both oral and written

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $200,000 year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
