Mobile Trailer Mechanic
**Job Summary:** Under close supervision, this position is responsible for performing basic services of our tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, and power equipment at a customer site or rail yard using a mobile service truck. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance. **Job Description:** **Key Responsibilities:** + With guidance, perform basic preventive maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake adjustments/services/replacements, electrical diagnostics, basic structural repairs on trailer chassis, sub-frames, etc + Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yard + Operate assigned service truck in a professional manner and according to company requirements; keep unit clean and well stocked + Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures + Properly document damage to company equipment to allow subrogation of repair costs + Understand and demonstrate the basic use of a cutting torch and welding equipment; perform minor repairs on chassis, frames, brackets, etc + Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs ensuring all holes are sealed and water tight + Perform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections under supervision of a certified technician as required **Shift Schedule:** + Sunday to Thursday 1:30pm-10pm In addition to the company benefits listed below, the maintenance team will also have access to: + Career growth opportunities + Company-provided uniforms and annual boot program + Safety culture with bonus incentives **Qualifications:** **Minimum Qualifications** : + 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs + AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences + Possess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines + Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase program + Willingness to work outdoors in the elements + Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed **Preferred Qualifications:** + High School Diploma or GED equivalent with up to 1 year of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent + DOT certified in FHWA Inspections and Air Brakes + Welding certification + Forklift certification and experience + EPA section 608 certification and refrigeration license + Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums + Ability to manage multiple priorities + Ability to work both independently and as part of a team + Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.) + Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively + Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds) + Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE) **Compensation:** The expected starting pay range for this position is between **$28.27-$35.34** per hour.
