Mobile Medical Unit Driver - Registrar

Description:Responsible for transporting the mobile medical unit to predetermined sites of care, ensuring vehicle security, facilitating routine and emergent vehicle maintenance and performing patient registration, data collection, and non-invasive screenings, as needed.

PRN position on mobile medical units.

Must have current A or B Class CDL

1. Actively demonstrates the organization’s mission and core values, and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.
2. Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information.
3. Transports the mobile medical unit from the storage site to the site of service via established routes as scheduled by the mobile medical unit manager. Coordinates the storage of the unit and the placement of the unit on service
sites.
4. Performs appropriate safety, security and maintenance checks before and after daily operations, or as required.
Contacts the appropriate organizational party if concerns arise.
5. Responsible for monitoring and coordinating routine and emergent vehicle maintenance and cleaning with SJRMC Environmental Services Department or storage site, local companies or contract maintenance firm as needed.
6. Provides security for all medical & office supplies, logs, security system, and any on-site personnel security problems.
7. Responsible for the daily set-up and close down of the van at each location, including loading or unloading of materials, setting stabilizers, awning, stairs/rail, table/chairs, starting generator, verifying all systems operating,
securing cab, refrigerator off, generator off, toilet secure, stair/rail up, all doors secure, all equipment secure, all cabinets locked and all chairs secure.
8. Assists with patient registration, data collection and health assessment, including performing blood pressure checks, height, weight, and other non-invasive screenings as needed.
9. Initiates and completes the appropriate Community Health Benefits Program (CHBP) process by:

10. Initiating and completing the CHBP process applicable to the presenting client.
11. Securing/documenting any necessary verifications, check stubs, Social Security numbers, identification, etc. for application completion.
12. Filing application with the local Office of Indiana Division of Family & Children and ensures timely turn around of appointment scheduling.
13. Maintaining CHBP records, including tracking and monitoring revenue generation, utilization and application turnaround time.
14. Ensuring patients are processed in a timely manner following departmental procedures.
15. Makes appropriate referrals to SJHS social workers and/or community health benefits coordinator for financial at-risk families and non-compliant population.
17. Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.
