Hatch is seeking a New Graduate Mineral Processing EIT position in our Saskatoon Office. If you have strong technical and interpersonal skills, and are excited by the mining industry, we want to hear from you.

 

Working closely with our senior engineers and designers, your primary role will be to act as a technical resource on challenging projects. You will apply analytical, conceptual, research, and planning skills to design various processes for precious metals and base metals projects in North America and around the world.

 

The position will allow the candidate to directly apply and develop his or her knowledge in process design, project engineering and financial analysis at various levels of the project life-cycle, from concept to execution and operation. The candidate may gain valuable on-site practical experience. As time progresses, project duties and responsibilities will increase, facilitating registration of the candidate as a professional engineer.

 

There will be potential opportunities for travel and work assignments in Canadian and international site locations. Newly hired EITs will be assigned to work closely with experienced engineers who will provide guidance and mentoring. There will be opportunity to specialize in a particular technical area, move into project engineering/management, and/or transfer to another Hatch office.

 

As the successful candidate, you will:

Provide Process Engineering design support to multidiscipline teams on brownfield, greenfield, de-bottlenecking, construction, expansion, and operations projects Participate in the development of Process Design Criteria, Process Flow Diagrams and Mass Balances in a variety of commodities. Basic design/specification and detailed design of process equipment, technical selection, calculations, sizing. Preparing RFQs, including specifications, scopes of work and data sheets Evaluate Vendor quotations for technical adequacy, budgetary constraints and client requirements. Preparing CAPEX and OPEX reports. Preparing and checking documents, calculations and drawing deliverables  Provide on-site inspection, commissioning and ramp up support.

 

You bring to the role:

Bachelor's degree in Mining & Mineral Processing Engineering, or a similar specialization (Expected graduation can be December 2024 or May 2025) Excellent analytical, writing and oral communication skills Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and teamwork skills Ability to interact successfully with all levels of staff, clients and vendors

 

Qualifications:

Candidates who have excelled in their studies at the undergraduate and graduate level in the discipline and knowledge of Mining & Mineral Processing Engineering are sought. In addition to demonstrating strong academic performance, candidates require good communication skills, an aptitude for working on multi-disciplinary teams, and a commitment to achieving engineering excellence.
