Our story starts in 1911, manufacturing cables to support the distribution of power generated from Niagara Falls, Nexans has proudly contributed to Canada's growth. We have been involved in many of Canada's most ambitious projects; from dams, bridges, energy transmission and distribution to railroads and transportation. We are a vertically integrated manufacturer and our products are made at facilities located in Quebec, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.
Nexans Canada Inc. - Fergus, is a top employer in the region and we are looking to fill the role of Payroll Coordinator/Office Administrator. This role ensures timely and accurate payroll processing for the site, along with administrative support. The site employs approximately 200 employees across several functions, and our Millwrights report to the Maintenance Manager.
GETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION
Repair of emergency breakdown work in a priority set either by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Maintenance Manager Completion of planned work as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Maintenance Planner Preventative maintenance checks/repairs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Maintenance Planner Ensure that the work completed is recorded in a manner to ensure adequate information available for the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Maintenance Manager Troubleshoot machine failures and repair as necessary within their abilities Update the computerized maintenance system by completing work orders and listing parts used
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
Certified Millwright 433A Above average troubleshooting skills Ability to handle several jobs and set priorities Ability to weld and machine components as necessary Ability to repair mechanical failures of machines including gearboxes, bearings, shafts, etc.
