In this role, you will set up and operate various types of numerically controlled milling machines to perform machining operations on composite and metal bonded assemblies, honeycomb, tooling, experimental, developmental and production parts. This position is working onsite at our Riverside, CA facility. This is a 2nd shift position (3:00pm – 11:30pm, Monday – Friday). What you will do: + You will be part of the IAM Local 964 union. + Please click here to review the full union job description: + file:///C:/Users/c95019448/Downloads/Assembler%20(full%20JD)%20for%20External%20Posting.pdf + Set up and operates all types of numerically controlled multi-axis milling machines, exercising a thorough knowledge of various types of machine control units and systems. + Mount holding fixtures and set up targets to worktables; position, align and fasten parts in fixtures, chucks or directly to worktables; mount cutters to spindles. + Load or activate control units, make required control settings, and align spindles to set up targets using dial indicators as required. + Make intermediate set-ups and cutter changes as programmed. + Select and hone cutting tools and cutters to specifications using safety precautions. + Observe machining process and watch for functional variations in machine or control units and notifies supervision of malfunctions. + Make periodic checks on parts to ensure dimensional accuracy to establish cutter change cycle. + Verify new cutter accuracy by making comparison checks after cutter change. + Perform close tolerance conventional milling operations such as milling compound angles, multiple angles, radii, keyway cutting, slotting, slabbing, etc. + Work from blueprints, sketches, or other authorized documents. + Assist programming personnel to check control units for logic errors and machine functionally. + Use overhead cranes and Forklift (PIV) in conjunction with the work described herein. + Follow standard work instructions and maintain traceability through accurate record keeping. + Use the necessary equipment, tools and materials required to perform the work described herein. + May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual’s skills. + Follow safe work practice and comply with company policy and regulatory compliance. Qualifications You Must Have: + HS Diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant Machining experience, In the absence of a HS diploma, or GED, 4 years of relevant Machining experience is required. + U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.   + https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.6 + 2 or more years of experience operating numerically controlled multi-axis milling machines. + 2 or more years of experience using machine hand tools and precision measuring instruments. + 2 or more years of experience reading and interpret blueprints, sketches, and other manufacturing outline documents. + 2 or more years of General computer and technical skills (i.e., Microsoft Office). The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
