Mid-Level Substation Design Engineer Job Summary

POWER Engineers is seeking a mid-level electrical engineer with experience in substation protection and control (P&C) and/or physical design. This position is in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Orlando office located in Maitland, Florida. An in-office or hybrid work environment is available (however a remote role might be considered; it would depend on the individual's level of experience and proven ability to work on a remote basis successfully). 

ResponsibilitiesPerform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra-high-voltage utility substationsPerform detailed design of one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project schedulingOccasional travel will be requiredRequired Education/ExperienceAbility to function as a Mid Level Substation Design Engineer in our Orlando office located in Maitland, FloridaBSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS in Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university, preferably with a power optionExperience in 15kV through 345kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standardsExperience filling the role of substation design engineer for several projects occurring concurrently2+ years of experience in utility substation design, as outlined aboveStrong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnelLegally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorshipDesired Education/Experience5+ or more years of experience in utility substation design, as outlined aboveExperience in 345kV through 500kV substation designExperience in managing small project teams.Engineer In Training (EIT) registrationManagerial and leadership skills a plus
