We manage a wide range of diagnoses, including respiratory failure & complex respiratory disease progression, septic shock, heart failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, metabolic crises, post-lung transplant care, and patients with chronic medical complexity. We are a close-knit group committed to empowering autonomous practice in our nurse practitioners to actively participate in bedside care and make crucial management decisions. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be responsible for : + Providing front-line care and coordination for complex, critically ill patients in the MICU, including assessment, diagnosis, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, bedside procedures, and family-centered care. + Collaborating and consulting with acute care providers and interdisciplinary team members on all assigned inpatients during daily rounds. Managing assigned patients throughout the course of the day. + Participating in ongoing research and quality improvement initiatives. + Facilitating patient/family and multidisciplinary team education. To qualify, you must have: + A minimum of 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience. + 1-2 years of Pediatric acute care NP or PA experience is preferred; new graduates will also be considered with previous ICU experience. + A graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. + Certified Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (FNP or PNP). + PALS preferred + Availability to work 40 hours per week, rotating day/night shifts, and a maximum of every third weekend. *Sign-on bonus of $5,000.00 (for people who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years.)
