At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world. Job Overview TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage. They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes. Role and Responsibilities  Maintaining and improving Safety within the workplace, both via implementation of global policies and also by driving engagement with the local teams  Responsible for the operational performance of the Hastings Manufacturing site. Developing and supporting operational Managers, Supervisors and Value Stream Leaders Support team with recruitment and disciplinary actions as required Partnering with indirect support teams and other stakeholders to deliver short term performance goals and long term strategic objectives for the site Owning and cascading accountability to deliver key metrics including: - Safety -Engagement -Quality (CoPQ) – utilise problem solving techniques and support from indirect teams to reduce CoPQ. Delivery on time – Ensuring complete alignment between planning and production and managing flow through all areas Productivity and Engagement Leveraging tools available to deliver continuous improvement (TEOA) and driving engagement in Kaizens and other productivity projects across all production areas Working with the financial controller to take decisions and actions as determined by the site P&L Deliver Bottom-Up and Top-Down communication through effective utilisation of the Tier structure Drive a culture of accountability through all levels Substituting in for the role of Plant Manager as required (holiday cover) What your background should look like: Supply chain understanding  People Management – Experience leading other managers and supervisors  Problem Solving TEOA / Lean implementation experience Ø Customer management – Demonstrated experience managing and developing relationships with external customers  Strategy development and implementation – proven experience of driving the creation of a strategy and subsequent implementation to achieve key objectives Financial acumen – an ability to understand and utilise site financial performance to drive decision making Demonstrated experience driving change within an organisation Competencies Managing and Measuring WorkMotivating OthersBuilding Effective TeamsValues: Integrity, Accountability, Inclusion, Innovation, TeamworkSET : Strategy, Execution, Talent (for managers)
