Overview Our Treasury Operations department is looking for an organized and self-motivated individual to supervise the company’s cash management functions. The Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the daily cash management activities of the corporation are authorized, performed accurately, preformed efficiently and are controlled to safeguard cash. The position provides formal supervision to team members including coaching, counseling, personal development and analytical support. In addition to the administrative duties of supervising a work group, the manager will also complete individual technical and business-related functions to assist the team. These functions can include cash forecasting, cash positioning oversight, short-term debt & investment activity, intercompany cash movements, reviewing cash accounting entries, managing banking relationships, as well educating business line and service group users of cash transaction services on accounts payable and accounts receivable policies and practices. The position will also be responsible ensuring all cash transactions comply with external regulatory and reporting requirements across PPL’s utility jurisdictions. The successful candidate should have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be detail-oriented, and be comfortable working individually as well as in a team environment. Responsibilities Supervise, direct, develop and motivate cash management staff responsible for ensuring cash positioning is well controlled for the payable, receivable and cash operational processing functions of the corporation. Provide business direction to cash operations staff responsible for educating and training business line and service group internal customers on cash operations policies and practices to ensure timely and effective processing cash transactions (cash receipts and cash disbursements). Responsible for cash forecasting and capitalization structure balancing responsibilities for the utilities and corporate sectors, providing frequent updates and analysis to management as well as executive reporting. Collaborate and provide input/execution on short term investment and borrowing decisions for each of the company’s utility and corporate sectors as part of daily cash positioning. Offer control expertise, advice and guidance to cash operations functions on effective control techniques to help ensure the implementation of effective controls around cash transactions. Assist in overseeing the design and performance of cash control monitoring and fraud detection tests to help ensure the integrity of PPL’s cash transaction processing. Manage multiple banking relationships and participate on cash operations and corporate teams to improve workgroup, department and corporate processes and systems affecting cash operations. Ensure corporate and departmental practices, policies and systems satisfy company needs and external regulatory and reporting requirements related to the cash activities of the Corporation. Research and analyze complex reconciliation, accounting, and other Treasury system related issues, such as payment variances, accounting out of balances, as well as software application and system process errors, and recommend appropriate courses of action to address these challenges. Interface with internal and external auditors concerning the cash controls of the Corporation, including ensuring that SOX requirements related to cash transactions are fulfilled. Assist on special projects, cash accounting and financial ad hoc analysis, as needed. Physical presence in the office to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study 7 years of Treasury / Finance experience with progression in responsibility and prior supervisory experience MBA or Professional Certification (CPA, CTP, CFA) preferred Experience with cash management and cash forecasting functions on a corporate level Established understanding of cash transaction rules and control models, processes, and systems, as well as banking relationships and terminology Proven understanding of accounting principles, cash transaction rules, financial processes and systems Expert knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong written and oral communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks under constraints
