Summary:
The Manager, Business Development supports all disciplines within US Supply Chain for co-man operations. The Manager, Business Development works closely with Acct Managers, Operations Business Development and Operation Planners. Supports sourcing and strategy to drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, manufacturing locations and cost savings, as well as for entire Manufacturing Alliances (MA) department. Actively participates in annual contract reviews and negotiations within Manufacturing Alliances for all partners across categories of ownership. Drives Business Review Meetings to review tolling and plant metric performance. The Manager, Business Development will be the key contact for special projects and innovation directly related to MA. Identify third party manufacturing companies to support growth, innovation, and new product needs. Foster strategic partnerships by engaging external manufacturers that offer services beyond manufacturing. Provides business insight to negotiate contract terms and product costs to the best overall advantage of the company. Support bid events to identify savings opportunities and ensure lowest pricing and obtain productivity.
Role Responsibilities:
Product Sourcing:
• Assign co-man facilities to projects based on capabilities, cost, and capacity
• Develop preliminary costing with manufactures using information from Accolade and OBD group.
• Maintain price list
• Knowledge of key cost drivers and drive margin enhancement
• Negotiate competitive tolling rates
• Point of contact for PCM projects
• Facilitate external options for co-man
• Lead total cost analysis and comparisons
Category Management:
• Develop and lead strategy for category
Supplier Relationship Management:
Coordinate business review meetings with co-pack/co-man partners Provide feedback on plant metrics and performance Use meetings to drive improvements through performanceContinuous Improvement

Co-man Business Intelligence lead for MA partners and industry landscapeQualifications:
Knowledge and understanding of business fundamentals, margins, operating budgets, product costs and the relationship of plant operations to the financial side of the business. Understanding of confectionary/food plant operations, S&OP, Distribution, Marketing, and Procurement practices. Ability to effectively interact with highest levels of executive leadership at external Copackers Financial/cost accounting knowledge Project Leadership skills to lead new product executions Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with keeping priorities in an ever-changing environment. Leadership and communication (written and oral) skills Ability to relate to and effectively interact with personnel at all levels and in many varying disciplines within the company Strong analytical skills
Minimum Requirements and Education:
B.A/B.S. degree in Business Administration or equivalent, Master’s Degree is a plus 3-5 years broad-based food industry experience with minimum of 3-5 years of co-man/co-pack external sourcing experience within the food industry or equivalent.
