MFC Advice Manager

Job Description

This role focuses on tactical, and operational management within the MFC Advice function. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts, over a period 3 months to 1 year.

Role Accountabilities:

Promotes the single Advice philosophy and principles appropriate for the MFC Market.

Focuses on maintenance of and enhancements to the MFC Advice House view in line with the Multi-channel Advice Framework. 

Responsible for Advice enablement (incl. appropriate tools and processes etc.) 

Monitors, influences, and reports on the adherence to the Advice Model by Distribution Management (incl. Advice related metrics).

Manages market conduct for Advice in MFC.

Implements management actions derived from advice compliance monitoring and compliant outcomes.

Participates in business change initiatives affecting advice.

Manages a small team of people.

Requirements:

Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.

Previous experience in a similar role within the Financial Services Industry with a proven understanding of Advice models, processes, and tools.

Certified Financial Planner (CFP) would be an advantage.

Provide resolution support to operational specialist support staff to assist in making judgment calls where risk assessment of situations is necessary.

ResponsibilitiesSolutions Analysis

Identify and evaluate complex, expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.

Knowledge Management

Develop policies and processes, create best practices, set up case studies, and deliver internal knowledge-sharing sessions to capture and share knowledge among colleagues on project/program outcomes and innovative practices in a particular area of expertise and to support the practice.

Financial Risk Management

Implement financial risk assessment and mitigation through across areas or projects of limited complexity, strategically aligning risk management with unit objectives.

Operational Compliance

Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensure own work adheres to required standards. Or identify, within the team, patterns of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and with relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, taking appropriate action to report and resolve these and escalating issues as appropriate.

Document Preparation

Edit document in line with organizational style guidelines and prepare information for publication.

Data Collection and Analysis

Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.

Information and Business Advice

Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring issues to others where necessary for interpretation of policy.

Regulatory and Compliance Management

Investigate standard incidents using current regulatory and compliance processes, systems, and procedures, and take action to solve immediate compliance issues. Advise more senior colleagues on more complex problems.

Personal Capability Building

Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
