The Financial Control function plays a critical and highly influential role within the organization, ensuring the completeness and integrity of our financial information, which directly impacts strategic decision-making and overall business success. As the guardians of financial accuracy, this team is responsible for preparing detailed financial statements for both management and local reporting, ensuring compliance with the highest standards and regulations. By managing internal and external audits, the Financial Control team supports transparency and accountability across the organization.This role in the Financial Controlling team is vital for ensuring accurate financial records and transparency. This role supports the month-end closing, manage statutory adjustments, and prepare crucial financial reports, providing critical insights for business decisions. It’s a great opportunity for a qualified accountant early in their career, especially those eager to gain international experience and work with IFRS standards.Joining Diageo’s Shared Service Center means becoming part of a global function where innovation, professional development, and the opportunity to make a real impact are at the forefront.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial records are complete and accurate in alignment with internal and external timelines.Provide assistance during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries to ensure compliance and transparency.Prepare and submit management financial reports, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and in compliance with relevant regulations.Give support to Market teams in Mexico, Bangalore RTR Teams, Budapest CARM or FP&A Teams may present regarding our financial documents.Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.Track and report key performance indicators (critical metrics) for financial control, supporting the team in identifying trends and areas for improvement.Maintain and update financial data, ensuring it aligns with internal policies, local regulations, and IFRS standards.Contribute to process improvement projects, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy within financial reporting and operations.Prepare and review analytical variations of the financial statementsKey Performance IndicatorsPercentage of deadlines met on time.Number of deadlines anticipated and addressed before due datesDiageo Values: Proud of What we do and Be better.Key RelationshipsFP&A and Costing Team.In-market finance.Finance Center of Excellence.Other Global Business Operations teams (Commercial Experience – Supplier Experience).Internal/external audit teams.Tax authorities.Group functions (tax, treasury, etc).The Power Skills You Bring

Education: Degree educated and part qualified - studying for a professional financial qualification. Accounting highly desirable.Experience: 2 or more years proved experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment.
