Metal Finishing - O'Neal Manufacturing Services Cedar Falls
Description Job Summary We are looking for a Metal Finisher for our 1st shift. This position would work Tuesday through Friday 5:00am to 3:30pm. Because we are a job shop there is always a variety of metal parts to finish to customer specifications. Parts range in size from small hand held to large weldments. This position would also help remove cut parts from the laser cut sheets. You would use tools such as: hand grinder, hand file, bead blaster, vibratory machine and a conveyor parts cleaning system. We are located in the Cedar Falls Industrial Park. Duties and Responsibilities + Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes. + Operate a sit down forktruck + Position parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following prints. + Read work order, follow verbal instructions, check print specifications to perform necessary process on parts. + Load/unload material onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand, forktruck or hoist. + Remove burrs from parts as required using various deburring tools. + Count, weigh and record number of parts processed. + Attach identifying tag or labels to materials, mark information on boxes, pallets or other containers. + Inspect work for conformity to specifications. + Stacks or assembles product into bundles and bands together. + Examines product for defects. + Cleans and organizes work area. + Other duties as assigned. Shift - 1st shift + Tuesday thru Friday 5:00am to 3:30pm + Overtime is posted the previous Wednesday + We are a climate-controlled facility. Skills and Qualifications + Ability to operate forklift. + Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints. + Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder and bander. + Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper and micrometer. + Provide high quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position. + Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines. + Speak, write and comprehend conversational English. + Strong attention to detail. + High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred). Physical Requirements + Ability to lift 20-5- lbs. repetitively throughout the course of a shift. + Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist and stoop for long periods of time. + Ability to walk 2-5 miles throughout the course of a shift. + Have good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses. + Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision. + Subject to environmental conditions that occur indoors and outdoors which includes but is not limited to exposure to changing temperatures, loud noises and vibration from use of equipment and the following: + hazards: variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals + atmospheric conditions, one or more ofthe following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation. + Oils: there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
