Our client is searching for a Merchandiser to be based in Johannesburg The role of the Merchandiser is to study global trends of garments source suppliers check quality of material and negotiate the best possible pricing
Duties and Responsibilities
Quality Checks Checking of PP samples in terms of fabric fit sizing workmanship and quality
Checking of trims lab dips bulk swatches need to be correct
Ensuring bulk stock is checked when quality issues arise and taking up any quality issues with suppliers
Supplier communication Handling supplier communication & any supplier queries sending/receiving of parcels to suppliers
Drawing up/ amending tech packs and CADS that need to be sent to suppliers
Sending swatch and sample comments to suppliers
Discussing any quality issues with suppliers
Assisting with the scale drawings for the website
Requirements
Matric or equivalent
1 to 2 years relevant experience
Medium to advanced Illustrator skills
General understanding of clothing construction
At least 3 years Previous technical CAD experience
Salary Market related based on experience
