MEP Designer
Job Title: MEP DesignerJob Description We are currently hiring for an MEP Designer to support a reputable A&E firm in the Columbus Metropolitan area. As the MEP Designer, you will focus on commercial building projects. The A&E firm has multiple different business units including Civil, Transportation, Energy, and Building Systems, which encompasses Architecture & MEP engineering. You will work within the Building Systems group and report to a Licensed Project Lead Engineer. In this role, you will support the Lead Engineer in a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design/engineering capacity, manage the technical content of building projects, and oversee all steps of the project process. Utilizing AutoCAD and Revit design software, you will produce construction documents for commercial buildings, primarily for retail clients, with projects also spanning government, education, healthcare, and parks & recreation sectors. Responsibilities + Support the Lead Engineer in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design/engineering tasks. + Manage the technical content of building projects. + Oversee all steps of the project process. + Produce construction documents for commercial buildings using AutoCAD and Revit design software. + Complete preliminary calculations within HVAC, ventilation, electrical, plumbing sanitary, and water supply systems. + Work on a variety of projects including retail, government, education, healthcare, and parks & recreation. + Participate in training within all disciplines of MEP engineering. Essential Skills + Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. + Experience in MEP design and engineering. + Knowledge of building systems and codes. + Mechanical and electrical engineering skills. + HVAC and plumbing design experience. + Ability to produce construction documents for commercial building projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience. + 3 years of on-the-job experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer for building systems. + Knowledge of engineering calculations. + Stable employment history. Work Environment Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. Hybrid schedule with in-office work on Monday and Wednesday, and the option to work from home on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
