Mental Health Professional

Location: New Brighton, MN

Compensation: $62,000-$75,000 per year based on experience

Job Duties:

Conducts clinical reviews on flagged referrals to screen for appropriateness for admission Assure that flagged referrals meet clinical admission criteria. Conducts intermediate clinical triage by requesting additional information or meeting with the individual to determine if service initiation criteria is met. Coordinators with admitting professionals, internally & externally. Conducts in depth clinical assessment interview using self-report forms, Rule 25 assessment forms and any and all other requested standardized assessment tools. Communicates clinical information to Utilization Review Staff communicates clinical data and coordinators admission process with the receiving facility and program Coordinates and collaborates with referral sources, clinical professionals internally & externally to ensure clinical/medical appropriateness of admissions. Helps those stakeholders who do not meet MBH admission criteria find alternate treatment options based on their needed level of care, financial/insurance resources and geographic consideration Develop new referral sources and maintain relations with current referral sources. Assist primary health care providers in recognizing and treating mental disorders and psychosocial problems. Assess the clinical status of patients referred by primary care providers through brief consultative contacts. Work with the primary care team to treat and manage patients with chronic emotional and/or health problems efficiently and effectively. Assist in the detection of at-risk patients and the development of plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration. Evaluate patient care plans with the primary care team. Teach patients, families, and staff about care, prevention, and treatment enhancement techniques. Monitor the site’s behavioral health program, identifying problems related to patient services and making recommendations for improvement. Attend and participate in meetings and quality improvement activities as required. Serve as a member of committees as requested. Participate in the evaluation of peers and support staff.

Job Requirements:

Master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences or related program  Current state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) under supervision Licensed Independent Social Worker under supervision
