Job Overview:
The Mental Health Clinician is school-based, carries a full caseload, works with the clinical team, and provides individual and group therapy.
Qualifications:
Required:
MSW, MS or MA in Counseling, Psychology or related fieldMinimum one year counseling with children/adolescents Must comply with TRMC paid state-level criminal history record background check supported by fingerprint check prior to hirePreferred:
Bilingual in English and SpanishCertifications and Licenses Required:
Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC)Scheduling Requirements:
Shift working, Monday-Friday 8:00 4:00pm each daySome evenings/weekends required for student activitiesFTEssential Functions:
Conducts classroom observations on individual student(s) when requested and provides relevant feedback to teacherProvides copy of counseling referrals to the BOE director for children s servicesSubmits timely data and reports to psychiatry administration and to the director of children s service for the BOE to include activity records, caseload and outcomes data and student progress reports according to established time framesParticipates in program planning and development as it relates to school based counseling servicesMeets with student s family on a regular basis to assist in goal achievement, (either face-to-face or by phone)Is available to consult with teachers and other school personnel regarding program development and/or individual case reviewsPresents topic -specific units within classroom settings as requestedWorks with the parent/ teacher organization leadership s to develop programs to support parent awareness education and engagementCoordinates treatment planning and make referrals to outside agenciesProvides direct service to referred students in individual and/or group settingsDevelops student-specific behavior management plans and communicates to relevant school based staffAttends and participates in IRS meetings, when requestedAttends and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) of goals for counseling on identified studentsParticipates in crisis intervention, as neededBenefits and Perks:
