Micron is hiring a MTS Pathfinding Architect in the Compute and Networking Business Unit based in Boise, ID! In this role, you will lead the definition of advanced data center memory solutions. Your role will focus on using your expertise in CPU, SOC, and GPU system design and architecture to shape innovative memory solutions for data center applications. This position requires collaborating with cross-functional teams to address emerging use cases and technological challenges.
Key Responsibilities:Research and analyze various AI applications and workloads in the data center market, focusing on their implementation over hardware configurations such as CPU, SOC, and GPU systems.Identify bottlenecks in current technologies through detailed system and software analysis, ensuring flawless performance.Define memory solution requirements for emerging data center needs, emphasizing system design, architecture, and integration of solutions.Collaborate with central engineering and R&D teams to identify, refine, and successfully implement advanced product concepts and solutions.Perform value proposition analysis and system benchmarking to ensure the success of the products.Required Skills:Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.More than 10 years of experience crafting platforms or key components like CPU, SOC, GPU, or memory subsystems, optimizing performance.Strong understanding of interactions between components within a platform and the influence of workloads, compilers, and software stacks on performance, particularly memory bottlenecks.Experience in hardware/software co-design, including compilers, runtime systems, and firmware, to holistically address performance challenges.Demonstrated experience driving architectural innovations to address emerging challenges.Outstanding analytical skills and proficiency in performance benchmarking tools.Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of working collaboratively across different teams and conveying technical concepts clearly to all collaborators.Preferred Qualifications/Experience:Experience with AI/ML and HPC applications.Hands-on experience with compilers (e.g., LLVM, TVM, Triton) and software frameworks (e.g., CUDA, ROCm) to address memory access patterns and reduce latency.Proven experience developing or optimizing memory hierarchies and mitigating memory bottlenecks.Experience with new product introduction and technology commercialization processes.Experience with memory tiering, interface protocols, and associated IP.Successful collaboration in cross-functional teams such as R&D, software, and business teams to deliver technical solutions.Proven ability to mentor and lead technical teams, encouraging innovation and excellence.The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$158,000.00 - $298,500.00Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
